TAI General Manager Muharrem Dörtkaşlı gave important statements to Defence Turkey at the ILA Air Show on his impressions of the fair and activities planned during the coming year. Dörtkaşlı stressed that participation of Turkey at the fair with a partner country status was very important and said: “I think that exhibiting these products here is a very significant indicator in terms of the point that the Turkish defence industry has reached as a whole.”
In looking back at the last decade, Turkey has made an intense effort in developing these platforms and products said Dörtkaşlı and added: “ATAK and ANKA were ready and we brought them here. As you know test flights for Hürkuş are continuing. We couldn’t bring it here in time but in the next fair we hope to include Hürkuş to these platforms.”
Indicating that Turkey had become an aerospace country, Dörtkaşlı went on to add: “Not only in the military field but in civil aviation as well, being here at such a large aerospace fair with seats, cabinets, indigenous designs and products makes us very happy.”
Pointing out that TAI does not produce its indigenous products from a local perspective or at local standards, Dörtkaşlı stated that TAI carried out its work by considering firstly global references and standards in each of its development and modernisation projects. The emergence of the product as a result of the intense efforts given during the development and delivery stages and, including the Turkish Armed Forces, accepted worldwide with a high reference customer delivery advantage were used in particular in export activities said Dörtkaşlı.
