Combat System of MILGEM 3 and 4 to be Procured by Aselsan and Havelsan

Within the framework of the aforementioned project, an amendment of 206 million € in order to include MILGEM’s 3rd and 4th Warships’ Combat Systems into the contract has been signed. Aselsan’s work share has been determined as 140.8 million € with the contract. 

Within the scope of the MILGEM Combat System, Aselsan is in charge of making Combat System Integration with Integrated Communication System, Electronic Warfare System, Electro-optical Systems, Navigation Systems, Radars, Air Defence and Weapon Systems, Fire Control Systems, Sonars and Torpedo Counter Measure Systems.  

Maximization of domestic contribution was among the goals of the MILGEM Project and in addition to the systems of the first two warships, new domestic systems have been included in line with the objective of increasing the rate of national added value in defence projects. 

The nationalized systems of MILGEM 3 and 4 are as follows: Torpedo Jammer and Decoy System (Hızır), designed and produced with national resources in light of developing, testing and integrating capabilities of underwater acoustic electronic systems gained with the infrastructural investments of Aselsan. Fathometer System (Kulaç) has been developed by Aselsan for Ay Class submarines and used for the first time by submarines. The model developed for surface vessels are to be used at MILGEM.
