ETA is Providing the Missing Parts of the Puzzle with Custom Design Solutions, for a Seamless System Integration
ETA Elektronik Tasarım was founded in 1984, as a "design house" for Defence Electronics. Since then, besides having its own, patented products, ETA has been one of the most respected subcontractors for major System Integrators in the Turkish Defence Market.
ETA is one of the first 5 pioneer companies that moved to the Technology Park of METU (ODTU Teknokent) by the end of year 2000, and also is one of the initiators and an active member of TSSK (Teknokent Defence Industry Cluster).
ETA provides high quality, fast and cost effective custom design solutions for the System Integrators, with the energy and flexibility of being an SME, and a team of highly skilled (averaging 14 years of work experience in ETA) 25 employees, where 60% are R&D engineers.
In late 2009, ETA signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with ASELSAN, which enabled two long term product families:
Communication Interface Units (GPCU, CIU and CIU/S):
This is a family of rugged electronic interface units with embedded SW for data communication and HW/SW protocol conversion between ASELSAN’s LN-270 Inertial Navigation System (INS), and different systems on a Navy Ship, that require Navigation data in different protocols (including RS422, NMEA, and Synchro with CIU/S). They were designed to be used as part of a Modernization Project for the Turkish Navy, but then as a result of the flexibility of the design, CIU turned out to be a standard unit for all the new Navy Ship Programs like MILGEM, YTKB, SGAK, LCT as well. ETA delivered 21 GPCU, 32 CIU, and 35 CIU/S units until now and currently have follow up orders for another 35 CIU units.
Multi-axis Rate Gyro Sensors:
This is a family of rugged sensor units with embedded SW, which are used in ASELSAN’s Stabilized Weapon Platforms (like STAMP, STOP and SARP) and provide up to 3-axis precise angular rate data using fiberoptic and/or MEMS sensors. ETA delivered over 100 units until now, and received a follow up order to design a second generation sensor family.
Meanwhile, ETA also received orders from ASELSAN on software development and testing:
Software development for Multi-channel Digital Voice and Data Recorder
BSP functional, performance and stress tests for the EW Mission Computer for Helicopters
Software Testing for verification of functional and performance requirements of HAKMU and MESMO application software packages.
ETA also started to be a design and manufacturing partner of ROKETSAN, for custom design, rugged, electronic equipment like AKU Firing Control Unit (Control Unit to safely activate 3x20 Rockets on a Multi Launcher Rocket System), AC Firing Control Unit (Control Unit to safely activate 2x4 Cirit Missiles), PRF Field Programming Unit (Portable Test and Programming Unit for Cirit Missiles), Brushless Motor Control and Drive Unit (up to 500W in a very small size)
Another field of expertise of ETA is Training Simulators. ETA designed a patented product family called Mini-RETS & L-CCATS, Laser Marksmanship Training Systems, for advanced marksmanship training at any place without using real ammunition. System combines an eye safe laser pointer mounted on the barrel of the firearm, and computer controlled laser sensitive pop-up targets. The system is approved by the US Armed Forces, and ETA exported over 12.000 units to USA until now.
ETA also developed state-of-the art sensor simulators like SONOPES (Sonar Operator Training Simulator for AN/SQS-56, AN/SQS-26 CX, DUBA-25, SIMRAD-950, DUBM-20B, HELRAS, AN/AQS-18A SONARS) and RADSIM (APS143-V3 RADAR Simulator that can be used as a stand alone Radar Operator Trainer, or can be integrated in a full-flight Seahawk Helicopter Simulator)
