Figes R&D in Aviation and Regional Jet AircraftProject Conference was realized on the date April 21th, 2015 in Ankara at ATO International Congress and Exhibition Palace. The opening speeches of the conference in which approximately 400 people were attending were given by Figes General Manager Koray Gökalp and Figes Board of Directors President Dr. Tarık Öğüt.
Koray Gökalp specified that the objective of the activity is to provide for the gathering of the experienced experts from different sectors for sharing information and for being able to create a synergy and that they were quite pleased with the interest shown.
In his presentation mentioning the latest developments in the defense and aviation field, Figes Board of Directors President Tarık Öğüt, said that MILGEM is one of the best examples to be shown for these developments. Moreover, Öğüt shared information on various projects Figes executes with the participants.
After the opening speeches, Dr. Cihan Kanlıgöz; General Manager of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications giving information on the final position of the National Regional Passenger Plane Project to the participants, also gave important information about the R&D support programs of the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime and Communications.
Bedriye Cicioğlu coming up to the stand in the name of the Defense Industry Undersecretariat saying that T-FX, F-35 and the Indigenous Helicopter Programs are among the subjects having priority for the DIU and that these programs are very hard and complex and R&D is a necessity for them to be successful. Cicioğlu mentioning the certification infrastructure in her speech said; ‘We need to establish the certification infrastructure in our industry in the aviation field. I think we will be able to reach a certain point if we establish this culture and this infrastructure. We have support programs forthe certification infrastructure as the Undersecretariat.’
Moreover participants from many companies monitoring the defense industry attended as well like TAI, THY, TurkishTechnic, TEI, Roketsan, Havelsan from among the Defense Industry Manufacturers Association (SaSaD) corporations.
The R&D applications in aviation, National Regional Passenger Plane Project as well as the current condition in Turkey and in the world were mentioned at the conference where national and international authorities and experts in the field of aviation came together.
