FNSS MAV Demonstrates its Capabilities at DYNAMIC MARINER/FLOTEX-25 NATO Exercise
DYNAMIC MARINER/FLOTEX-25, a major multinational maritime exercise designed to enhance Allied naval cooperation, improve operational readiness, and demonstrate the Alliance’s ability to secure vital sea lanes in an evolving security environment, took place in the western Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean between 24 March and 4 April 2025.
For the first time, the Turkish Navy Amphibious Task Force will assume the role of ARF Commander Amphibious Task Force (CATF) and Commander Landing Force (CLF) from July 2025. Before assuming the responsibilities, Turkish Armed Forces successfully participated in the Exercise DYNAMIC MARINER/FLOTEX-25 with 1279 personnel, Naval Infantry Landing Force, TCG BAYRAKTAR (L-402) and TCG SANCAKTAR (L-403) LSTs and TCG ORUÇREİS (F 245) and TCG GAZİANTEP (F-490) Frigates, to demonstrate the readiness and compliance with NATO Standards.
During the exercise leading Turkish armored vehicle manufacturer FNSS product MAV (Marine Assault Vehicle/ZAHA) also has successfully completed its tasks. During the beach-landing phase of amphibious operations, these vehicles are launched from amphibious assault ships and can rapidly cover the distance between the vessel and the shore, allowing marine units to land under armor protection. MAV has all the features and capabilities of both a military land vehicle and a military marine vessel, by balancing the land and sea requirements.
Led by Spanish naval forces, the exercise brings together a formidable fleet of NATO warships, submarines, maritime patrol aircraft, fighter jets, marines, and sailors from multiple Allied nations. The exercise is a key test of NATO’s maritime strength, interoperability, and rapid response capabilities, ensuring that Allied navies remain prepared for any potential threats at sea. Based on a fictitious scenario aimed at demonstrating Allied solidarity and strength, the exercise will focus on maritime expeditionary operations, enhancing collaboration at every opportunity.
