FNSS Showcases New Products at IDEF’15

FNSS General Manager Nail Kurt giving a short speech at the launch ceremony, said that FNSS starting its adventure in the sector as the first Defense Industry Company 25 years ago, it has carried the task given to it to the excellence level during the first 10 years and developed itself up to a level to design the product fully which was initially given to it only with a manufacturing licence and in this way, during that period, has succeeded to increase the local contribution to the 80% levels. Kurt, reminding that the company had made its first system exports towards the end of the 1990’s said; “This pride statement of the first ten years would certainly be not adequate for Turkey and our sector entering the millennium. As a company renovating itself continuously and targeting to be the best in its field, we started to include our indigenous projects during the beginning of the 2000’s.  Kurt attracting attention to the fact that FNSS introduced 8x8 and 6x6 Pars family firstly and in a short period of time, succeeding to race with its other upper level worldly competitors created a product that has broken its way from among them obtaining important bids, recorded that the Malaysian AV8 Project is the result of this condition. FNSS CEO continued his speech as such; “The sector strategies of our State, the Defense Industry Undersecretariat have also been of great support for us and monitored us too. Moreover, as a result of the establishment and supporting of R&D centers in our Ministry of Industry and an important R&D center entered into activity at the FNSS premises.  All these came to life with the provision of the support of our sector with the correct strategies by our State and as a result of FNSS acting very dynamically with overlapping vision and missions.”
Nail Kurt saying that they have come together to introduce two important products with the aim to provide for the needs of Turkey and friendly countries as to the developing Technologies in the world, expressed that such indigenous design and development activities must be supported by all segments of society and especially the press. Nail Kurt, emphasizing that performing only domestic productionfor a country like Turkey would not be enough any more,  said in his speech “From now on we must develop our indigenous domestic products by domestic designing as well we will created the value added only in this way.” After the speech of Nail Kurt the veil on the products was opened and the new products were introduced to publicity. 
“Kaplan” New Generation Tracked Armored Fighting Vehicle
New generation “Kaplan” designed for the near future infantry, with its protection systems against mines, missiles and kinetic energy ammunition, electronic infrastructure permitting integration to current electronic  systems, advanced suspension and palette system, increased power group and its architecture permitting even the integration of 105mm weapon systems is named as the new generation fighter vehicle capable of joint action with the 22-25 Hp/tonpower-to-weight ratio, which takes into account the weight of the communication system and the automatic transmission. The vehicle has a platform design that can provide for the completion of all kinds of tasks with integration ofdifferent subsystems. Nail Kurt, saying that they have introduced the newest member of the “Kaplan” Tracked Vehicles Family in this fair where its concept was introduced and of which the 10 ton class introduction was made at the IDEF fair in2013“ As the vehicle which we can define as the new generation AFV, has superior capabilities with its late technology systems.” 
Vehicle whose maximum road speed is given as 70km/hr, maximum road range as 650+km is introduced as one of the few vehicles having amphibious capability in its class. The vehicle with the two propulsion system positioned behind it can be included in river crossing operations without the necessity for preliminary preparation in deep and currently waters. Moreover as it can perform pivot turns in water, it can move backwards as well. 
Pars 4x4 Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle
PARS,the new member of the Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle Product Family “Pars 4x4” is designed to perform the tasks with special aims like Advanced Surveillance, Anti-tank Warfare and command and control.
FNSS General Manager Nail Kurt mentioning that this vehicle which is introduced is designed in accordance to the Project requirements of the Land Forces Command Anti-tank Vehicle Project said that  “Pars 4x4” took its place among our product range with its low profile, amphibious capacity and its suitability to other task similar to exploration.
The total length of the vehicle is approximately 2,5 m., the width is approximately 2.5 m., and the body height is 1.9meters and its power-to-weight ratio varies between 25-30bg/ton in accordance to the power package to be used in relation to the preference of the user. The vehicle with a 5 crew capacity can operate in deep water with currents (with 8km/h speed) without any preliminary preparation requirement with its amphibious capacity. While Pars 4x4, can climb slopes with 70% perpendicularity, it can cling inside 40%slopes and can cross over vertical obstacles of 50cm.The vehicle can switch from 4x4 mode for rough terrain to 4x2 mode for use on a highway. PARS 4x4 having an axle lock in loose and slippery grounds moreover has an automatic transmission. The trench passing capacity mentioned as 90 cm of the vehicle has a turning radius less then 7meters.  Pars 4x4, reaching 120km/h in asphalt grounds has a 700kmrange with internal fuel. 
The PARS 4x4 can be transported using any kind of military transport aircraft including the CH-47 Chinook heavy load helicopter.
