IDEF 2007 International Defence Industry Fair
Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) undertakes the management and responsibility of IDEF International Defence Industry Fairs, which are organized bi-annually in Ankara, with the support of Ministry of National Defence. IDEF Fair is one of the top five Defence Fairs in the world and the biggest within the region.
TAFF has organized seven IDEF Fairs since 1993 with a great success. As an act of this, 431 exhibitor companies from 50 countries participated to IDEF-2005 and 282 delegation members were hosted during the fair. 387 negotiations were made during the fair. The fair has been visited by 85.000 visitors. In comparison to prior fairs, it is clear that the stakes have been clearly raised for IDEF-2005 in all areas and that success will reach even higher levels with IDEF-2007. IDEF-2007 8th International Defence Industry Fair, will be held on 22nd - 25th May, 2007 in Ankara at 75th Year Ankara Hippodrome Facilities. The Scope and product profile of IDEF- 2007 consists of Land, Naval, Aviation and Aerospace, Transportation and Logistic Support Activities, Equipments and Tools for Supply Department. At IDEF-2007 Fair, Army, Navy, Air, Gendarmerie, Coast Guard Forces’ needs and space technologies, electric-electronic systems, tools and equipments for security forces, military medical equipment, and other related sub-products will be exhibited.
A press release and a cocktail were organized on 16th November, 2006 in Ankara Dedeman Hotel in order to give briefing to the related institutions, companies and people, with the participation of Mr. M. Vecdi G_N_L, the National Defence Minister and President of the Board of Trustees. Military and trade attaches in Ankara, members of defence industry institutions, companies and press participated at this organization.
