Korean Innovation Award Goes to Aselsan

RECONSURVE, conducted under the leadership of Aselsan, received the Republic of Korea’s Most Innovative and Commercially Viable Project award among the projects within the scope of international EUROKA Program. 
Within the framework of the RECONSURVE project, of which Coast Guard Command is among the end users, a maritime surveillance system with smart sensors integrated with unmanned aerial vehicles that could detect illegal activities taking place at the seas is developed.  Aselsan leads the consortium of 10 companies composed of firms such as Thales and Cassidian of France.
The award was presented by the President of Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) Dr. Yong-Geun Kim to Image Processing Manager of Aselsan Dr. Cengiz Erbaş who also conducts the administration of the project on behalf of the consortium, at Korea Eureka Day 2013 in Istanbul.
