Ankara based FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş. continues to offer new vehicle configurations.

ACV-S

FNSS recently was awarded a contract by a Middle East country for its ACV-S vehicle. The vehicle will be manufactured in Armored Command Post configuration.

The name ACV-S (“S” stands for Stretched) is the general name for a family of modern high performance vehicles, all derived from the highly successful ACV 300. These vehicles have proven themselves, in high intensity operations, peace support/keeping and asymmetrical type threats and they are in service with a number of Armies World Wide, including three NATO countries.

The ACV-S offers the latest developments in high value vehicle performance while maintaining commonality with the ACV 300 family of vehicles.

The ACV-S offers 30% more volume under armour, 70% more payload capacity than ACV 300, and mobility equal or better than a modern main battle tank. This means that the ACV-S chassis can carry high payloads such as two-man turrets and still provide the same payload as a standard ACV 300 without a turret. It has outstanding mobility and protection and weighs as low as 18,500 kg combat loaded with two-man turrets. In addition, it is 90% spare parts commonality to ACV.

The ACV-S can be provided in a number of different configurations including tracked logistic carrier, Fighting vehicles with one or two-man turrets, recovery, fitters, 120 mm mortar carriers, combat engineering variants etc.

The company is also offering 120 mm Mortar Carrier configuration of ACV-S in various regions. Currently the vehicle is fitted with 120 mm Bighorn mortar of Ruag Land Systems.

PARS WAV FAMILY

FNSS has developed a New Generation wheeled armored combat vehicle based on a family of vehicles and is known as PARS.

PARS are a modern ‘State of the Art’ practical range of Wheeled Armored Vehicles. It is designed as a ‘family’ concept with a complete range from 4x4x4, 6x6x6, 8x8x8 and 10x10x10 models all using the same standard modules and automotive components derived from the commercial vehicle industry.

The PARS vehicle has significant technical and performance capabilities against current Western designed wheeled armored 8x8 vehicles. These include ‘active ride height control’ based on air spring suspension; all wheel steer and all wheeled drive.

These features and with a very highpower- to-weight ratio and large tires provides PARS with exceptional cross country mobility.

The vehicles can be configured for a number of various missions such as Border Patrol vehicles, Armored VIP Escort Vehicles, Internal security vehicles and Armored Combat vehicles.

These variants can be fitted with a variety of weapon stations.

FNSS has recently been awarded a contract by the Turkish Government for Mobile Amphibious Assault Bridges based on technologies used in PARS.

It is understood that PARS has many technical features that the most of the modern armies are interested in such as large axial capability, Can Bus for electronic (s), high protection levels and growth potential.
