Opening a Window to the Future of fire Support: ADOP-2000
ADOP-2000 Fire Support Automation Project was started by Turkish Land Forces Command (TLFC) to provide the automation of functions of all fire support assets ranging from Corps Tactical Operations Center (TOC) to forward observers.
The Master Plan for the Fire Support Automation Project was prepared by Aselsan in 2000. This Master Plan includes the architectural design and system solutions defined and documented as preliminary designs according to long term fire support requirements of TLFC, as well as a long term plan for main project activities and milestones in the development, production, trials and deployment phases.
The next phase of ADOP-2000 Project started with the contract signed between the Turkish Ministry of Defence and Aselsan in 2001. In this phase, Aselsan developed new fire support systems, such as Tactical Fire Direction Command Control System (TAİKS), Battery Fire Direction System (BAİKS-2000), Mortar Fire Direction System (HAİKS), Forward Observer System (ADESTİM) and Survey System (YİTP). The systems development was followed by the deployment of the newly developed systems to the fire support units ranging from Corps TOC to gun and forward observer sections within selected troops. The legacy systems in the inventory of these troops such as various types of weapon systems, target locating radars, field artillery meteorology systems and survey systems were also upgraded with the necessary hardware, software and communication systems required for digital integration of these systems to the fire support network. This provided the integration of all fire support assets with each other as well as with the systems within the other functional areas of battlefield such as maneuver, air Defence, and army aviation, resulting with the capability to execute all fire support functions in a digital and integrated environment.
Following successful results of the trials of the new fire support architecture and systems of ADOP-2000 in the selected troops, a new contract was signed in 2009 between the Turkish Ministry of Defence and Aselsan to deploy ADOP-2000 systems to other troops. Deliveries are underway on yearly basis within the scope of this long-term contract.
Aselsan offers a broad product range of advanced state-of-the art Fire Support systems with more than 25 years experience in the development and manufacture of these systems.
