OSSA Flew to the Peak of Aviation

OSSA successfully displayed the level it reached at defence and aviation industry at the Seattle Aerospace and Defence Suppliers Summit where the Cluster attended with Turkish Aviation and Aerospace Industry Corporation-TAI and under the leadership of Undersecretariat for Defence Industries. 

At the program which took place between 11-13 March 2014, the Cluster was represented with 26 member companies that are also within the scope of the International Trade Capacity Development Project (URGE) supported by the Ministry of Economy. 

During the fair that was conducted by the main sponsorship of Boeing company -one of the global aviation actors-, members of OSSA gathered with the suppliers and producers supplying indigenous equipment to the sector and held over 270 business negotiations. The delegation seized the opportunity to make technical observation at Boeing production facilities and gathered with companies’ executive representatives and procurement team in a meeting organized especially for the cluster.

A session for Turkey was held at the USA program. Head of Industrialization Department of the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries Bilal Aktaş, TAI Industry Operations Head Naki Polat and OSSA’s Coordinator Hilal Ünal extended information on the capabilities of the defence and aviation industries and SME’s to the international participants. Aktaş, Polat and Ünal stressed on the strength of both the key industry and sub-contractors in their presentations.
