Loader Cranes
With lifting capacities from 2.5mt to 115mt, the customer can choose out of a huge variety of models his loader crane which fits best to his needs. Based on thousandfold built serial civil models, Palfinger customized cranes comply to military standards, special operational requirements, climatic military standards, military painting standards (e.g. CARC, IR-absorbent) and can be executed with black-out modus, low profile designs, special add-on equipment (e.g. interrogator arm), etc..
The Palfinger cranes are used for standard logistic, decontamination, maintenance, EOD, UAV catching and many more operations. Beside the loader crane, Palfinger can offer a variety of add-on equipment to extend the possibilities of operation, like working baskets, clamshell buckets or special manipulators.
Load Handling Systems
A second product group of Palfinger for military users are load handling systems to roll on / roll of flats and containers. The basic load handling system is developed for the handling of flats and DIN containers. With the especially for military users developed SCORPION, the handling of 20” ISO-container (1C/1CC) is guaranteed additionally. The hookloaders are available for 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-axles trucks and can be modified for individual military requirements.
Tail Lifts
Tail Lifts can be offered for lifting capacities of 500kg to 3.000kg in one-piece, two-piece or foldable execution and special dimensions. Especially for military customers a fordable tail lift was developed with black-out modus, special military paint and suitable for torsion-free bodyworks.
CRAYLER
A worldwide unique Palfinger product is the remote controlled, four-wheel-driven and air-transportable field loader CRAYLER, with a lifting capacity of 1.300kg @ 600mm load distance and a lifting height of 2.800mm. The CRAYLER was developed and approved in close cooperation with the German Armed Forces for the erection and operation of air-transportable field camps and medical rescue centres. The basic idea was to develop an effective, quick deployable and versatile field loader which fits to the demands of a modern army, acting in international missions which require quick response times. Due to his compact transport dimensions and service weight, air transport of the CRAYLER is possible with helicopters like CH53, CH47, Super Puma, UH60 inside or underslung or with fixed wing aircrafts like C130, C160, A400M, C235 or C295. Several certifications for air transport already exist for the above mentioned aircrafts.
After the first operational experiences the fields of application increased by implementing a variety of add-on equipment like a grap system, camera system, dozer blade, towing device or a crane arm.
Current users are the medical corps, field camp troops, logistic support units of airborne troops, special forces, artillery forces, engineering corps, maintenance corps, etc.. The CRAYLER is registered at the NATO logistical support management agency - NSPA.
