Following its acquisition by Koç Holding, RMK Marine Shipyard has been delivering turn-key solutions in national and international markets in the fields of design, construction, project management and maintenance & repair of military vessels, commercial vessels and super-yachts.

RMK Marine is one of the biggest shipyards in Tuzla region with its31.000 meter squared indoor area out of 95.000 meter squared total area. Having the biggest dry dock in Tuzla region, the vessels of about 50.000 DWT, aluminum and steel super-yachts up to 80 meters and composite super-yachts up to 40 meters are constructed at RMK Marine. It has the slipway capacity that allows simultaneous construction and launch of more than one vessel at different tonnages. The steel processing capacity is 15.000 ton/year per shift.

Drawing the route of success

The construction of two naval logistics vessels of about 2100 DWT, namely TCG Alb. Hakkı Burak and TCG Yzb.İhsan Tolunay were initiated at the end of nineties and delivered to the Naval Forces in 2000. Then RMK Marine was selected as a successful bidder in the "Four Coast Guard Search and Rescue Vessels" tender realized by the Coast Guard Command in 2006 and became the first private sector shipyard that undertook the biggest combat vessel project in the sector’s history. The first three vessels, namely Dost, Güven and Umut are under Sea Test and Acceptance phases and the last vessel of the project namely Yaşam was launched on September 12th, 2012. The delivery of all vessels are planned to be realized in 2012.

Each vessel within the scpe of the Coast Guard Search and Rescue Vessel Project has an overall length of 88 meters, width of 12 meters and weight of 1700 tones. In terms of their dimensions and capacities, these vessels belong to "corvette class" and were equipped to perform multitasks such as patrolling, preventing smuggling, fire extinguishing and preventing environmental pollution in addition to their search and rescue tasks. The speed of the vessels is over 22 knots per hour.

Within the scope of the project, the design and production of the critical military systems such as the command and control system software and hardware, electro optical directors, communication systems, gyro systems, firing control systems and consoles were performed by local capabilities of our country.

RMK Marine has been continuing studies with its dynamic staff and corporate structure by harmonizing the expertise with advanced technology in order to accomplish higher added value, sophisticated and significant projects.

RMK Marine is one of the two shipyards amongst even the military shipyards holding "AQAP 2110 NATO Quality Assurance Requirements for Design, Development and Production" certificate. With this certificate, it also has the privilege to be the first private sector shipyard whose design capabilities are certified.

With the platform developed, it is the first private sector Turkish company that provides electricity and weapon electronic integration designs and solutions within its own structure. Besides, it is the first shipyard in Turkey that is able to design and produce the interior fittings for the constructed super-yachts, commercial and naval vessels through its fitting shop.

RMK Marine is focused on design and construction of indigenous and unique products with its engineering skills supported by R&D studies. It has projects which are applied to and approved by TÜBİTAK TEYDEB. In the coming period, such projects will be underway and also new R&D projects will take place together with SME’s and subcontractors in order to support various levels of expertise.

The Undersecretariat for Defence Industries is the customer of RMK for military projects within the country. RMK Marine has been participating in international fairs standing out in defence industry field such as IDEX, IDEF and DIMDEX in order to establish new international markets.

RMK Marine has the capability, capacity, experience and infrastructure for meeting the high performance and quality requirements of Naval Forces. With its investments, RMK Marine has been continuing its studies in order to further develop its specialized human resources and construct all kinds of naval vessels including big combat vessels in the defence industry sector. The Landing Platform Dock Project, the tender process of which is still ongoing, is amongst the foremost military projects of which RMK Marine aims to be the main contractor. On the other hand, for Milgem-S Project -the next phase of Milgem Project- RMK Marine is one of the two shipyards that the Undersecretariat for Defence Industry has requested an offer from.

Following its participation to DIMDEX 2012 Fair, RMK Marine has given an offer for the corvette project of Qatar Naval Forces as a main contractor together with STM, Aselsan and Havelsan. In this project, the evaluation phase of which is still underway, RMK Marine together with STM that undertakes the platform design responsibility, have reflected the know-how and experience of Turkey with regards to corvettes and OPV class vessels as well as national combat system capabilities.

RMK Marine is still continuing the design and production activities of high speed surface platforms including ell, boat and combat systems and working on 42 m and 35+ knot Fast Attack Crafts; 66 m Multi-Purpose Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) having high speed and advanced technology features.

Within this context, RMK Marine has been evaluating the export opportunities in many countries for its indigenous design 42 m Fast Attack Craft (FAC), 66 m Multi-Purpose Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) and 85 m Corvette class platforms.
