ROKETSAN was founded by the Turkish Defence Industry Executive Committee decision with the intention of supplying country’s rocket and missile needs within domestic resources in June 1988. It has been listed among Turkey’s top 500 industrial enterprises since 2007 and today is one of the top 1000 exporters of the country with around 1700 employees in its modern facilities. Strategic cooperations with leading international companies offer ROKETSAN more strength in defence world.
Various national and international programs have been successfully carried out not only for Turkish Armed Forces requirements but also for the allied / friendly nations. From the beginning, intellectual property and expertise on design, development, test & production of various rocket & missile systems infrastructure have been established.
Tactical Missile Systems
ROKETSAN products have specific features that differentiate them from the products available on the market. Driven by our customer requirements, some indigenous systems are designed and produced. Low-cost precision strike missile system, 2,75” Laser Guided Missile also known as “CIRIT”, Long Range Turkish Antitank Missile (TAM-LR), a new anti-tank system and Stand-Off Missile (SOM) autonomous, long range, high precision, air to surface new generation cruise missile are some of the examples.
ROKETSAN has successfully achieved to develop and qualify 2.75” Laser Guided Missile “CIRIT”. “The First National Missile of Turkey”, CIRIT is designed to fill the gap between cheap and non-accurate unguided rockets and high cost guided anti-tank missiles based on Turkish Armed Forces requirements. It is effective against lightly armored stationary and fixed targets. With its aerodynamic structure and composite propellant, CIRIT has the longest range (8 km) within the family of 2,75” missiles. Furthermore, CIRIT missiles have Multi-Purpose (Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel and Incendiary) Warhead and High Explosive Warhead options.
Another unique missile is near to complete its development phase. TAM-LR is a Long Range Anti-tank Missile with 8 km range homing IIR Seeker with RF Data-Link and with Tandem - High Explosive Warhead also with a Laser Seeker option available. The missile has LOBL, LOAL and LO-Update capabilities. TAM-LR can be integrated to various platforms such as Helicopters, UAVs, Fixed Platforms and Land Vehicles. TAM-LR integration program for new generation national T-129 ATAK attack helicopter which will be in the inventory of Turkish Armed Forces is still in progress. The serial production is expected to start in 2014. TAM-LR and CIRIT use the common launcher which enables combining both systems in the same configuration for a customized solution.
Conceptual developments of Stand Off Missile (SOM) for Turkish Air Force (TurAF) has been carried out by TUBITAK-SAGE. SOM system is the family of SOM-A and SOM-B1 missiles. In 2012 initial production SOMs were delivered to the Turkish Air Force. Currently, the missile has been integrated to F-4E 2020 aircraft and F-16. SOM is an autonomous, long range (100 Nm+), low observable, high precision, all weather, air to surface new generation cruise missile to be used against highly defended, anti-access and high value stationary and moving land/surface (ASuW) targets. Due to the common requirements of Turkish Air Force and JSF (F-35) program, SOM has been offered as a modern anti-surface cruise missile for newly developed F-35 fighter aircraft.
In June 2012 Defense Industry Executive Committee has tasked ROKETSAN and TUBİTAK-SAGE for modification of F-35 internal carriage variant of SOM missile named “SOM-J”. SOM-J is planned to be integrated to F-35 Block-4 aircraft. Starting with their fundamental research and conceptual design, TÜBİTAK-SAGE has completed the development phase.  And now, ROKETSAN is responsible for serial production and international marketing of SOM.  The first SOM serial production contract by Turkish Ministry of National Defence has been awarded to ROKETSAN at mid-2013. This is expected to start international interest to SOM and accelerate marketing activities around the world. F-16, F-35 and newly developed other platforms are considered to generate significant market for SOM.
Artillery Rockets
Maintaining a system engineering approach, ROKETSAN designs and manufactures tailored systems determined with customer requirements such as launching, command & control, ammunition loading and transportation and other various subsystems.
Artillery Rockets designed and produced by ROKETSAN with various calibers and ranges can provide mass fire power with wide coverage on critical area targets between 3 km and 100+ km range with perfect accuracy and minimum dispersion. ROKETSAN Artillery Rockets provide timely, accurate and effective fire support to maneuver forces. ROKETSAN designed artillery rockets are; 107 mm TR-107, 122 mm TR-122 and TRB-122 and 300 mm TR-300 rockets, main technical specs are given below. Guided versions of 122 mm and 300 mm rockets are under development as well.
ROKETSAN has proved his product design and service quality to Middle East customers and is intensively executing its market development activities from United States to Far East, from South Africa to North Europe. 107, 122 and 300 mm ammunitions and weapon systems are exported worldwide. ROKETSAN is also coproducing these systems in the export markets. We have become a brand among the defence giants of the world.
ROKETSAN designed rockets can be launched from either classical steel tubes or sealed thermal insulated and tropicalized composite pods. Sealed pods keep rockets away from the adverse effects of humidity, corrosion, shock and vibration for the whole shelf life. Additionally, they provide dramatically shorter reloading time so enhance mobility and fire power.
ROKETSAN designs and produces the most modern multi barrel rocket launching systems.             122 mm T-122 and 300 mm T-300 Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher Systems are designed and manufactured based on the requirements of Turkish Armed Forces. T-122/300 Multi Caliber MBRL System is the latest and the most modern Multi Caliber and Multi Barrel Rocket Launching System designed by ROKETSAN. It has the capability to fire 122 mm rockets, 300 mm rockets and 300 mm guided rockets. The system can fire 40 rounds of 122 mm rockets or 4 rounds of 300 mm rockets. Similarly, T-107/122 Multi Caliber MBRL System has the capability to launch both 107 mm and 122 mm rockets. T-107/122 MBRL System performs mass lethal fire within very short period and missiles from close battle area to depth of enemy up to 40 km range. The system can fire 60 rounds of 107 mm rockets or 20 rounds of 122 mm rockets. Both systems have flexible structure to fire other types of new rockets and guided munitions in the future.
ROKETSAN also designs and promotes the critical support vehicles such as the Command Control Vehicle, Ammo Supply Vehicle, MET vehicle and Repair Vehicle besides the launchers regarding the minimum battery configuration needs in the frame of the customer-focused system approach to augment the effective usage of the T-122/300 and             107/122 Multi Caliber MBRL Systems.
The Command & Control System and Weapon Management System of the battery can be integrated with modern fire support automation (tactical fire direction system) and battlefield command control and management systems. It provides integration opportunity with onboard or an assigned target acquisition radar or unmanned air vehicle. ROKETSAN can provide customized full package solutions for the Turkish Armed Forces and friendly countries’ armed forces. Artillery Rockets and Weapon Systems have been designed, produced and delivered to different countries for several projects.
ROKETSAN Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Weapon System is launched from naval platforms and is effective against the underwater targets with its 6 rounds of rockets ready to fire in sealed tubes. Integrated with sonar system of the naval platform, it can be used in 500 - 2000 m range and 15 – 300 m depth. The ASW weapon system is capable of automatic target engagement.
