Significant Milestone Passed in Hürkuş Program
New Generation Basic Training Aircraft “Hürkuş” designed and manufactured by Turkish engineers successfully passed the last of the structural tests known as Maximum Load Application Step. The load capacity test was conducted in a specially created test environment at TAI premises.
During the tests carried out under the surveillance of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the maximum load that requires certification was effectively applied to the static test aircraft. Various types of critical loads that may be installed to “Hürkuş” during the flights were applied to the static test aircraft throughout the tests that were conducted for a year and a half. All test conditions were fully met and relevant certification requirements were covered.
All test steps accomplished were planned and executed with the participation of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and General Directorate of Civil Aviation. With the Full-Length Aircraft Static Test, Turkey and especially TAI gained a significant experience and capability. Moreover an important milestone was accomplished within the scope of “Hürkuş” Project.
