Dearsan is now building 16 Tuzla Class Patrol Boats for Turkish Navy in accordance with the contract executed with the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries on 23 August 2007. Provisional delivery of 9 boats and final delivery of 5 have been completed so far, and the project continues in accordance with the delivery schedule.
In addition to being the first warships built by the Turkish shipbuilding industry, the Tuzla Class Patrol Boats incorporate the Defence systems designed and manufactured for the first time by the local Defence industry in Turkey. The ratio of domestic added value of the project is %70, which is beyond the targets of the Main Supply Contract. Thus, it is a great contribution to the competitiveness of our country.
The project has so far accomplished the target of building high quality ships for the Navy with the valuable input from of the Shipbuilding Industry, Universities, and local suppliers for the Defence industry. The contributions of the Navy personnel as users who provided superior knowledge and experience have also added great benefit to the project development.
The Tuzla Class Patrol Boats are certificated by Türk Loydu Foundation as per the international standards.
The success of this project has been proven once again with the exportation of the Tuzla Class Patrol Boats. In this context, 2 boats were finally delivered and put into service. Furthermore, the provisional delivery of one boat took place in January 2013 to be followed by another boat in February 2013. Dearsan has provided a great contribution to Turkey with its exportation of Defence industry products.
Due to Dearsan’s own design, it is possible to make any amendment or modification of configuration on the patrol boats, which have attracted the attention of many countries in the international markets not only for military, but also coast guard purposes with its short building times, low cost, superior quality and customer satisfaction. This result of course brings about the need to compete with the shipyards of countries which gained advantage in the world market for many years of scientific expertise and experience in the shipbuilding industry. However, Dearsan has full confidence in its products in this area of competition due to the fact that the Turkish Navy has preferred our patrol boats and the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries has provided positive contribution in this regard. Consequently this will contribute to the Turkish Shipbuilding Industry in terms of production, quality and development of end product.
Dearsan continues its disciplined and dedicated activities feeling heavy responsibility and taking great pride in building 16 patrol boats for Turkish Navy.
