Technology Transfer Contract at an Amount of € 2.7 Million and Subcontractor Agreement at an Amount of € 5 Million were Awarded Between IAIS and Aselsan
Aselsan shall make a technology transfer to IGG-Aselsan Integrated Systems LLC (IAIS), which was established by Aselsan and International Golden Group (IGG) in the United Arab Emirates, in order to provide capabilities for the production, test, integration and logistics support of Aselsan made Stabilized Weapon Systems. IAIS is expected to initiate the production/test activities as of April 2013.
As per the sales contract signed by Aselsan, 50 out of 100 12.7 mm STAMP systems are planned to be produced by Aselsan at the first phase and the remaining 50 are planned to be produced by IAIS in the United Arab Emirates. Aselsan officials stated that the number of systems to be produced in the United Arab Emirates is expected to be increased in accordance with the project schedule. IAIS shall also be responsible for the installation of all systems on the boats including previously supplied 34 systems, their activation, maintenance and repair services during the system life cycle as well as user and maintenance personnel training. All systems are planned to be delivered to the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces until 2015.
The joint production of Aselsan’s MUHAFIZ 30 mm remotely controlled naval weapon system (STOP), the acceptance tests of which are still underway, is expected to be initiated in 2013 as per the requirement of UAE Naval Forces.
Between Aselsan and IGG a contract was signed in 2009 to integrate STAMP and STOP systems with the boats and ships of the UAE Naval Forces and Critical Infrastructure & Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA). Under the scope of the contract, which was signed between Aselsan and IGG to supply 34 STAMP systems have been installed on the boats.
