TEI’s Engine AIT & MRO Business Activities
Established in 1985, Tusas Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) is a joint venture between Turkish Shareholders (50,5% TAI;3,3% TSKGV & THK) and General Electric (46,2% GE) of USA specializing on Module & Parts Production, Assembly/Inspection/Test (AIT), Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul (MRO), After Sales Services of Aero Engines and striving towards Geniune Engine Design & Product Development.
Today, TEI participates in international projects with leaders in aerospace industry and utilizes its state of art manufacturing, service and design structure with its dedicated work force. TEI is a worldwide producer of exceptionally high quality products, technical support services and a design center for the Aerospace Industry. With more than 700 part numbers in its parts production portfolio, TEI’s serving its customers as a rotating part center of excellence for well known commercial & military engine programs.
Analyzing the number of existing F110 engines powering F-16 and F-15 Military Aircrafts and ongoing new F110 engine campaigns in the regional countries shows that there is significant AIT/MRO business potential present.Having already given an utmost support to TurAF through Peace Onyx I, II& IV and F110 Engine Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) programs, Tusas Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) has been strongly pursuing the potential AIT & MRO business opportunities in the region.
In 2012, TEI started to work with Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) to overhaul their F110 fleet which are powering F-16 Fighter Aircrafts in RBAF’s inventory. TEI will continue to perform the MRO work and expand the workscope for the F110 Engines in RBAF inventory as the main contractor in 2013.
TEI has been performing NATO Awacs A/C Engine TF33 Depot Level Maintenance since 2001. TEI, has been selected as "Outstanding Aircraft / Power Plant SoR" for the year 2011 by NATO Support Agency (NSPA) and International Aerospace Management Company (IAMCO) in TF33 Engine Depot Level Maintenance project for NATO Awacs aircrafts, as a result of the evaluation made considering the turn around time, quality, contract management and responsiveness criteria. TEI, having won the same award twice in 2004 and 2008, has been found worthy of the mentioned award for the third time in eight years by NATO, due to the successful performance carried out in 2011 within the context of TF33 Depot Level Maintenance.
TEI is also investing in T700 Turboshaft Engine AIT, MRO and test capabilities for the engines in Turkey and possible international export customers.
With its vision of being a worldwide, high quality and competitive main engine producer, TEI is working strongly towards to create a long lasting and stable Aircraft Engine Industry in Turkey by rendering products and services which will serve to advance the technological foundation of Aerospace Industry.
