The First Firing Test of SIPER Block-2 Successfully Completed

The first firing test of the SIPER Block-2 System has been successfully carried out from the Sinop Test Range. President of Defence Industry Agency Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün stated, "The first firing test of SIPER Block-2 was successfully carried out from the Sinop Test Range. I congratulate ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE, and all our subcontractors involved in the project."

The SIPER Project, initiated by the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) to meet the long-range regional air and missile defense needs of our country, is being carried out in partnership with ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and TÜBİTAK SAGE. During this test, telemetry data is collected under flight conditions, and it is planned to use these data in the activities to be carried out in the later stages of the project.

President Görgün said the following in his evaluation of the project: "While studies related to the acceptance activities of the Block-1 system under the SIPER Project are being carried out, the System/Subsystem Development and Test Phase of Block-2 are also continuing in parallel. SIPER Block-2 has the same ground systems (radars, command control, missile launcher, communication systems) as Block-1, and the Block-2 missile is effective at a longer ranges and altitudes.”
