Turkey Highlights its Indigenous Products at the DSA Fair
The 14th International 2014 DSA Fair on Defence and Aerospace that took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia saw nearly 1,000 participants from 60 countries. Including Turkey, among the 28 countries participating in the fair, 45 countries had 344 official delegations.
Among the defence industry firms participating from Turkey under the co-ordination of the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries were FNSS, Otokar, Havelsan, TAI, Roketsan, OSSA, TÜBİTAK Bilgem, MKEK, Savronik, AYESAŞ, Dearsan, ADIK, C2tech, TEI, Gate Elektronik, MilSOFT, Öztiryakiler, Repkon and Timsan An intense interest took place in the Turkish stand throughout the Fair. The Sultan of Brunei, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Malaysian Royal Family, the Defence Minister of Azerbaijan and many delegations from a large number of regional countries received information from the officials of the Turkish stands on their products.
In the FNSS stand, the AVC 19 SPM 120 in the inventory of the Malaysian Land Forces and the Tracked Logistic Carrier platforms on the agenda in marketing to regional countries were exhibited. In addition, the AV8 in the stand of the Malaysian Deftech firm sold to the Malaysian army was showcased for the first time. The 30 mm and the 25 mm turreted configuration exhibited in the booth also exhibited Aselsan’s SARP turreted AV6. Among Turkey’s largest platform manufacturers, Otokar, at its stand in the Fair introduced the Arma 6x6 and the Igla turreted Cobra II vehicles. During the four days of the Fair, Roketsan exhibited the 2.75 laser guided “Cirit” and the 4 pod launcher system as well as the long-range, laser guided and infrared configured anti-tank missile Mizrak-U with a 10 km range and the corresponding launcher solutions. Additionally, Roketsan shared the mid-range, anti-tank missile Mizrak-O, the Stand-off Missile SOM and the low and medium-altitude missile systems and solutions with participants at the Fair.
