Turkish Products to be Used in Africa to Fight Against Terrorism

Turkey will provide financial support to the G5 Sahel Joint Force, which was initiated by 5 countries in the Sahel region of Africa (Mali, Mauritania, Chad, Burkina Faso and Niger) to fight against international terrorism.

As a result of these talks, a contract for the sales of arms and ammunition was signed between G5 Sahel Joint Force and the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) at the 15th International Defense Industry Fair IDEF. Within the scope of the contract, MKE will deliver the Bora-12 Sniper Rifle, PMT-76 Machine Gun and ammunition of various calibers to the G5 Sahel Joint Force.

After signing the contract, a Declaration of Intent was signed between the SSB and the G5 Sahel Joint Force, aiming to increase cooperation regarding the defense industry, by the SSB President Prof. İsmail Demir and Executive Secretary of the G5 Sahel Secretariat Eric Yemdaogo.
