Following his establishment  in 1986, KAREL has created the electronic branche exchange market in Turkey, , providing self-designed  PABX products to the market, and started the transition from electromechanical systems to electronic systems. Established with hundred percent domestic capital, KAREL,  has one of the most advanced R&D Centers, when compared with other local telecommunications companies .. Today, KAREL  is the market leader in Turkey, and exporting products and technologies to more than 30 countries, is amongst the top 15 PABX manufacturers of the world.
Furthermore, KAREL provides solutions for communication needs of Armed  and Naval Forces for more than 15 years. KAREL’s military product family extends from tactical rugged communication switchboards to PAGA (Public Address and General Alarm) systems developed for naval  ships. KAREL has also launched PBXxs, Intercom Systems and PAGA systems for medium to large vessels/ships  complying with the needs of Turkish Navy and Shipyards.
KAREL newly introduced  IP based VODINA System, integrating  Alarm, Announcement and Entertainment functions in a single platform. VODINA replaces traditional Public Address (PA) and Entertainment systems not only in commercial middle and large sized vessels, but also in naval ships and submarines with distinguishable features. VODINA is a true military grade system that fulfills EMC and environmental requirements with affordable prices. Besides common PA functions, VODINA offers high quality Video On Demand (VoD) Music On Demand (MoD) and live video/audio services  via Ethernet infrastructure.
VODINA’s unmatched distributed switching structure dedicates a separate amplifier for each loudspeaker to realize utmost reliability and expandability. System may drive over three hundred loudspeakers and horns with a total power of up to four Kilowatts.  By using TFT display fitted stations or via external Intercom/PBX system, ten independent simultaneous announcement address zones may be defined   In addition, it is possible to generate sixteen general alarms, two of which are user definable, fed through not only the loudspeakers but also video panels and IPTV’s connected to the system.  Whenever there is a General Alarm or Public Address VODINA suspends all ongoing  videos, displays alarms/announcements and resumes them right after.  From the Central Control Unit, peripherals may be introduced to the system, announcement stations may be configured, loudspeaker may be assigned  to the zones, user defined alarms and all other parameters may easily be programmed. VODINA also supports integrated  radio communications interface.
VODINA incorporates an on board media server which has the capacity of serving hundreds of touchscreen video panels and IPTV’s simultaneously. It is an integrated infotainment system which allows ship’s crew to watch films, live videos or listen to music channels via personal entertainment panels.
