MSPO 2015: Roketsan Accelarate in Poland Market with Cutting-Edge Technologies
During the MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition Fair, Roketsan and WZL1 companies signed a contract on the cooperation for the integration of 2.75” laser guided “Cirit” and Long Range Anti-Tank “UMTAS” Missiles on the platforms at Polish Armed Forces inventory.
Within the scope of the contract signed by Roketsan Deputy Chairman of the Board Ergüder Toptaş, WZL1 Chairman of the Board Jan Piętowskı and WZL1 Board Member ZbigniewŚredzıńskı,Roketsan and WZL1 aim to offer solutions for potential cooperation areas through know-how transfer on technical and administrative issues.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, WZL1 Chairman of the Board Jan Piętowskı stated that they developed various projects and systems for Polish Armed Forces for long years and added that the integration of the Roketsan products and systems would be creating new opportunities for them not only in Poland but also in the world.
Roketsan’s Deputy Chairman of the Board ErgüderToptaş mentioned that Roketsanis amongst the leader companies on rocket and missile design, development and production and added that Roketsan provide its international customers sensitive guided missile systems that proved themselves in operational sense such as the Laser Guided 2.75” Missile “Cirit”.
Toptaş expressed that as a result of this venture between the two companies, Roketsan’s products and systems would also be exported to friendly nations. Toptaş ended his speech stating that they, as Roketsan, believe this contract would be creating greater cooperation opportunities forthese two companies in the future.
Mesko to collaborate with Roketsan
Mesko S.A. and a Turkish company Roketsan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering future collaboration on a range of defence industry activities.
Under the terms of the agreement signed at the MSPO - Industry Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, the two companies will initially exchange business and technical information with the aim of verifying possible areas of cooperation.
The scope of the signed MoU is to formalize the intent of collaboration on products and programmes involving capabilities and solutions including, but not limited to 2,75” Laser Guided Missile “Cirit”, Laser Guided Long Ranged Antitank Missile “UMTAS”, Air Defence Missile, Guidance Kits for Classical Ammunition and other Precision Guided Weapon Systems.
The MoU was signed by Mesko’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Waldemar Skowron, and Roketsan‘s Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Erguder Toptas.
Waldemar Skowron said: “We are very pleased. The memorandum opens the door wide for both sides. Our Turkish partner and ourselves are now able to reach progress in modern forms of missile systems. This is a magnificent example of cooperation between NATO countries“.
Ergüder Toptaş said: “We believe the step we took forward to explore a range of cooperation opportunities for co-production of indigenous weapon systems such as Laser Guided 2,75” Missile “Cirit” and Laser Guided Long Range Antitank Weapon System “UMTAS”, Air Defence Missile and development of new technologies will lead to a wide perspective of business cooperation in the future between our companies.
