Chairman of the Board of Odak Kompozit Teknolojileri A.Ş. Ayberk Özcan has indicated that they design and produce composite products to the principal defence industry companies such as Aselsan, Roketsan and TEI and in this regard have achieved successful results.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Odak Kompozit Teknolojileri A.Ş. Ayberk Özcan stated that the company was founded in 2011 to design and produce composite products for the principal defence industry companies such as Aselsan, Roketsan and TEI and in this regard have achieved successful results.
Chairman of the Board Ayberk Özcan said: “Our Company was founded in 2011 to provide engineering and production services for composite materials as advanced technology products for the defence industry. During this process, we designed and produced composite products to the principal defence industry companies such as Aselsan, Roketsan and TEI and obtained successful results. Again during this process, in order to expand and diversify the products that we produced for these companies, we gave emphasis to R&D activities. As a result of these activities, by using Aksa carbon fibre, we prepared what is known as “prepreg” and produced pre-impregnated resin fabric and obtained success in different projects using this product.”
Providing information on their 2013 targets, Ayberk Özcan stated that, “Odak Kompozit Teknolojileri has adopted as its 2013 target not just being a production company but also to be considered as a company that designs and produces semi-finished and final products. Towards this end, it has targeted investments in necessary human resources and know-how and in turning these investments into high quality products that encompass technology. In addition, in order to increase our production capacity, a new facility is being planned.”
The industry has made great strides and has succeeded in businesses
Chairman of the Board Özcan went on to mention the following on the subject of the Turkish defence industry arriving at a better position:
“The Turkish defence industry has made great strides and has signed off on successful businesses. What is necessary in this continuity is success in indigenous design. The Turkish defence industry is in a position where it sells science and technology overseas as much as it receives technology and science from overseas. By expanding this position, it must obtain more sound locations with sought after technology. For this reason, emphasis must be placed on R&D and qualified manpower and actively included in the defence industry.
Assessing the 2023 targets set for the defence industry, Ayberk Özcan said that, “The most important element in the 2023 Vision must be guiding investments and qualified manpower towards “indigenous products” with the participation of universities.  Production that does not utilize science and technology cannot withstand the erosive effects of time. Our country has lived through this for years. The Turkish Republic, within the framework of the identified Defence Industry Strategy must continue to support investments, human resources and technology and by continuously monitoring the Turkish defence industry must guide it towards the 2023 targets.”
