Revolution in Judicial System By Metus!

For the first time in all Turkish justice history, a giant step is taken by recording the whole court hearing process towards the judicial system being more transparent, faster and much fair now for defendant and plaintiff as well as the state itself. 

Now all courts are recorded by Metus Ingest recording software within the framework of Audio-Visual Information System (SEGBIS) of Ministry of Justice. Thanks to the new system applied by Metus, all conversations among witness, the accused, attorney and the judge are recorded by Metus Ingest Software like a court hearing in a movie.Metus system enables the court to contact to the defendants and plaintiffs remotely, no matter where they are located, to transfer video images of live-connection both to the court and National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP) system simultaneously. 

Metus has customized software architecture of INGEST specially for Ministry of Justice with a special interface and particular tools, as INGEST video recording program represents a decade of developing and upgrading endeavor, and delivered the tailor-made INGEST software at the end of 2012.  

In the system, there are two or three cameras are used to record the court hearings continuously. This system is already in use of 700 court-hearing rooms, and ultimately it moves forward to reach such big number as such 6000 hearing-rooms. 

One of the most important features of the system deployed by Metusis Metus INGEST runs thoroughly integrated and in synchronicity with UYAP. In other words, all types of related court files including record of hearing can be accessed immediately, those files and information can be updated within the system immediately at the trial, and meanwhile all court is being recorded with its video and audio in the course of hearing. 

All types of related information and file including record of court operator is retrieved from UYAP to Metus INGEST interface uninterruptedly, and those files are transferred to the trial instantly. With “Point of You” feature developed by Metus, hundreds of people are connected remotely, and their video is recorded into the system. Moreover, when the judge calls i.e. the suspect, the camera turns to him with a single click and his image reflects to the screen and under record.

Metus has given a great importance to security in INGEST system developed for Ministry of Justice. The system sets limitations to the accessibility of the video images, and only predetermined authorized persons are allowed to access to the system but with only electronic signature.

The system is developed as a smart project, designed to reduce workload and the flaws in jurisdiction dramatically. Furthermore, lowering the costs in many fields mainly logistics, it ends moving court files from one place to another. More importantly, the biggest advantage of Metus system is to minimize human-error and speed up judicial process, and eliminate any misusing possibility in the future.
