Military Mechanical Works  (WZM) in Siemianowice Slaskie  was established in 1952 and it has a long-term tradition in repairing, upgrading and producing specialized equipment for the Army.
In 1996, modernization of the BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance vehicle commenced. As a result of this upgrade work, a whole family of upgraded armoured reconnaissance vehicles was created: from the BRDM-2M96 model through to the BRDM-2M96i BRBM-2B, BRDM-2BF, BRDM-2A, and BRDM-2M96iK. In total, more than two hundred vehicles were overhauled, being successfully used by the Polish Army, especially during peace keeping missions. 
In 2002 Military Mechanical Works (WZM) presented an offer for a new generation vehicle which was selected as the most advantageous from all the offers presented. The culminating point of the tender was the signing of an agreement for the delivery armoured wheeled vehicles by WZM to the Procurement Department of Armed Forces of the Ministry of National Defense on April 15, 2003. 
Rosomak 8x8 Armoured Modular Vehicle is the latest product offered by WZM.

Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicles BRDM-2 Modernization
Modernization of BRDM - 2 vehicles overhauled by Military Mechanical Works is an excellent example of adapting and modernizing equipment for contemporary requirements of the battlefield as well as the realization of tasks as part of peace keeping missions.
Overhauls and modernization resulting in full compatibility of the vehicle and its systems (communication, weaponry, recognition) in frame of NATO structure 
Training simulators and didactic aids 
Didactic equipment allows acquisition and improvement of practical knowledge in the field of driving the AMV. The training device fully reflects the geometry of the driver compartment together with functional reflection of vehicle subsystems (steering elements, dashboard). Moreover, it is designed to teach driving techniques in simulated terrain, difficult atmospheric conditions and various terrain. 
WZM has know-how, experience and the capability to create (produce) a simulator, training devices or 3D models for each subsystem of the AMV.
Specialist training centre
WZM’s Specialist Training Centre possess four air-conditioned rooms equipped with professional and modern simulators, training devices, multimedia equipment, didactics aids allowing us to train more than 45 trainees at a given time.
Service 
Military Mechanical Works Joint Stock Company (WZM) has modern infrastructure in the form of service facilities and professionally trained service personnel. Servicing can be performed at our facility, or at the clients premises. As part of the above mentioned, the facility also possesses:  a specially adapted, modern building that meets all demands of modern service centres, modern hydraulic jacks dedicated for KTO Rosomak vehicles, specialist diagnostic equipment for diagnosis and repair of all vehicle systems and components.
Overhaul
WZM has modern infrastructure to carry out overhauls of the AMV Rosomak at our facilities and has a team of professionally trained personnel.
Scope of overhaul: 
Vehicle overhaul after damage caused, as a result of improvised explosive devices in ISAF Afghanistan, which include: technical verification, total vehicle dismantling, hull repairs, repair of components, vehicle assembly, proving ground tests, assembling.
After all the repairs are carried out, the vehicles meet the same standards and requirements of new vehicles produced at WZM.
Spare parts and special tools
WZM provides: 
Continuity of supply of spare parts necessary for the AMV Rosomak.
Smooth flow of selected spare parts, because we have buffer stock.
WZM offers: 
Special tools needed for maintenance at workshops, repairing the AMV Rosomak.
Technical Support
WZM provides technical support wherever it is needed, in addition to covering the mission at the same time in the three permanent service points in Poland also. These are located directly in the places of most intensive use of vehicles, in Miedzyrzecz, where at the 17 Mechanised Brigade, stationed in Szczecin, where at the 12 Mechanised Brigade and Poznan, the seat of the Land Forces Training Centre.

On missions: 
Chad: 2008-2009,  total 16 Rosomak’s   
Afghanistan:  2007 - 2013, approximately 200 Rosomak’s
Irrespective of place of use and numbers of 8x8 KTO Rosomaks, WZM delivers full support at the highest level.
Military Mechanical Works Joint-Stock Company (WZM) is constantly working on complex modernization of vehicles and integrating them with the latest systems, which will improve operational and combat capabilities of vehicles. These systems will allow the preparation of vehicles to requirements of the battlefield or other threats.
