SimBT is an SME that has brought together specialist with profound experience in the areas of:

Modeling and Simulation

Artificial Intelligence

Computer Graphics

Virtual Reality

Multimedia Systems

Geographic Information Systems

Decision Support Systems

These areas of expertise hinge upon two elements: know-how and software. Know-how usually manifests itself in the form of tools for decision support, optimization, analysis, simulation based acquisition, engineering level simulation, embedded simulations and so on. These tools are realized in the software environment. Therefore, SimBT utilizes its know-how to develop software-oriented solutions.

SimBT is conducting business as university – industry cooperation company in Technology Development Center at Middle East Technical University, Technopolis Ankara-Turkey. It has the required compliance to national military and civil quality qualifications.

Our mission is bridging the gap among "science, technology and turn-key systems" and "university, research centers, industry and acquisition agencies"; and to develop the best simulation, simulator and augmented reality systems, 3D display applications, geographical information systems and turn-key products for national and abroad customers.

SimBT’s some indigenous products and involved projects include:

Geografical Information System (SimGIS): This is a geographic information system programming interface (API), which is fully developed by SimBT. Currently, our geographic information system is employed as a standard infrastructure in the weapon systems of ASELSAN.

SimBT Image Generator (SimWorld): This is a proprietary image generator developed by SimBT. The image generator is compatible with our CBS infrastructure and provides advance visualisation capabilities including but not limited to large area database management; multi-resolution visualisation of terrain, sea and details; realistic atmosphere and under water simulations; dynamic environmental effects such as lighting, reflection, shadow, rain, fog, wind, cloud, wave; special effects such as smoke, fire, explosion, dust; realistic camera simulations such as day camera, thermal camera, night vision goggle; and post-process effects such as depth of field, blur, noise, brightness, contrast, inverse color, color multiplication, grayscale.

Holographic Display System (HoloSis): This is an indigenous 3D holographic (stereoscopic and autostereoscopic display) content generation and visualization system developed by SimBT. This system consists of sub-systems for converting 2D videos to 3D videos (DepthGen); displaying 3D Video Play Lists (HoloPlayer); developing interactive 3D contents and applications (HoloDesign) and visualization of geographic information data (HoloPlan).

Radar Video Plot Extraction System : This system was developed for Turkish Navy and Undersecretariat of Defence Industries. The system has two sub-systems that are: analog to digital radar signal converter hardware and plot extraction software. As a sub-contractor of ESDAŞ Co, SimBT is responsible for developing the software part that includes data processing, plot extraction and distribution, video recording and playback, data visualization and the user-interface.

Embedded Simulator System: This system was developed for ASELSAN. This software system connects to a real weapon system and simulates the surrounding environment of the weapon in real-time. This virtual environment consists of terrain, sea, atmosperic and astronomic conditions, terrain/sea features, land/sea/air threats, weapon and fire/explosion effects.

Air Defence Modeling and Simulation System: This software is developed for Turkish General Staff and Undersecretariat of Defence Industries. SimBT is the sub-contractor of the C2Tech Co and responsible for development of geographic information system, optical sensor detection algorithms and 2D/3D visualization.
