Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) A Leader in Aerospece in and Around Turkey
As TAI, we are glad to be a part of the Middle East Technical University (ODTU)Teknokent Defence Industry Cluster (TSSK). Our experience with the cluster clearly demonstrated the synergy,common understanding and common language created among the cluster membersand TAI,and also provided means to create benefits for the defense and aerospace industry.The increasing role of Technopolis establishments in the defense and aerospace industry, enable the industry to gain strength from the close relations with universities;which provide necessary research infrastructure for taking part in developing new technologies.
Under the guidance of our vision statement of "becoming a World Brand Aerospace Company with indigenous products and global competitive power" and the mission statement of "leading the development of Turkey’s aerospace industry", it is one of TAI’s objectives to enhance cooperation with the METUTECH cluster companies.
Technopolis companies, with their innovative and high value added inputas well as qualified manpower, contribute not only to the establishment of design & development infrastructure, but also enhancethe local content of defense and aerospace industries.
Nowadays, the innovative business approach requires collaboration between industry, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), research centers and universities. For a successful collaboration,the key point is to recognize the expectations of each party. If all parties clearly define and understand each other’s priorities, then output of this collaboration will be fruitful and beneficial to all parties. Clusters are the best channels for these collaborative studies.
From the national point of view, close cooperation established between cluster companies and prime contractors will be an important aspect to reach Turkey’s 2023 Vision targets.Today, our collaborations are better than ever; however there are many things to be accomplished. With the support of clusters like TSSK,we will certainly achieve our targets in meeting national objectives.
As a result of the distance taken by the Middle East Technical University Technopolis, since 1996, and the establishment of TSSK with the aim of carrying the efficiency and effectiveness of the cooperation to higher levels, we strongly believe that both TAI and our country’s place in aerospace industry will progress forward.
