UMG Elektronik; National Solutions for Electrical Engineering Requirements in order to Cover Air and Land Defence Systems
UMG Elektronik Ltd Company is an electronics design company established in April 2000. The main objective of our company is air and land Defence systems, to cover electrical engineering requirements and to contribute to the production of national solutions mainly for all electronics and weapons systems in the inventory of the Turkish Army Forces, including:
Modernization
Modification
System Integration
Maintenance and Repair
Research and Development
UMG is aware of the requirements of Turkey’s Defence systems and so continuously produces new projects in this field. This awareness is enabled by a workforce that has acquired substantial experience in the Turkish military and companies operating in the Defence industry.
Our works are ongoing in Stationary/Mobile radars, IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) Systems, Narrow Band/Wide Band Radio Link Systems, 2D/3D Video Extractor Systems within the scope of our Modernization/Modification and Maintenance/Repair activities.
In addition to maintenance, repair and modernization operations, our company has also conducted R&D activities at METU KOSGEB since July 2005. The company has carried out R&D works since December 2008, and our efforts are continuing at our unit at ODTU Teknokent.
Studies were carried out on MICE computer systems for the Turkish Navy’s Barbaros-class frigates in 2009. In parallel with these studies, we completed an R&D project with financial support from the TEYDEP 1507 program. Products developed by this project are Synchro-to-Digital and Digital-to-Synchro converter modules in 10 to 16 bits resolution. These products entered the Turkish Navy’s inventory as the single domestic resource.
Products developed for Gölcük Shipyard Command presented good reference for our company and an R&D project was also commenced for Rüzgar-class assault boats at Pendik Shipyard. With this project, subsidized by the TÜBİTAK 1507 program, we developed a modular Data Transmission System (DTS) engineered for use on any kind of boat. The DTS sends highly accurate heading, roll and pitch angle data received from the gyro-compass unit as synchro-signals to ship locations. The system also decodes speed data received from Speed Log units, transducers and speed sensors, converts this data into synchro-signals and sends it to the related systems of the ship.
In addition to its electronic hardware engineering capabilities, our company has also strengthened its infrastructure for software development. We are adding national electric car development to our efforts in the design and development of electronic Defence systems in 2013 and 2014. We have started a new R&D project for this purpose and are designing a network to control all electronic/electromechanical systems in an electric car. This network, which is created to control performance and security, will manage the car within the framework of predetermined scenarios so that real-time data about the vehicle can be monitored on the vehicle’s controller screen.
Our company holds ISO-9001-2008 quality management certificate.
