MES Aluminum: the First Turkish Private Aluminum Alloy Forging Technology Company

Mes Aluminum has been established in 1965 in Istanbul as a family owned company. Soon became the experts in hot and cold forming of aluminium alloys, MES serves the main markets of high pressure gas cylinders, automotive aftermarket, defence industry, energy industry and various sectors with high quality aluminium alloy products by combining and practicing the technologies of hot and cold forging, deep drawing, impact extrusion, machining and surface treatment. 

As the only producer in Turkey and one of the few producers in the world of aluminum alloy forging technology, Mes derives its power from the advanced technology and innovation of its products rather than impressive production figures. Mes does not produce standard catalog products, but is mainly involved with production of specific products in order to meet the needs of its cooperating companies. Each of its products by itself is a new project.

Mes is one of the only two companies in Europe manufacturing aluminum alloy high pressure containers, which make up 50% of its total production and also participates to defence industry projects since early 1970s. As the first private company in Turkey that has production permit license for production in domestic Defence industry, Mes has been showing the same care and diligence for all new projects it is involved.

After making its first export to Germany in 1993, the company currently exports to 20 countries in 4 continents. Mes makes production of various products for various application areas, such as automotive parts, roofing systems, scuba diving tubes, filter bodies, cranes for sailing boats, and stretcher parts for ambulances. The Company developed joint projects in Defence industry with many NATO members, and also works internationally with recognized companies such as Vibracoustic, Scania, Meyle in automotive industry, Linde, Air Liquide, UTC Group in high pressure cylinders industry, as well as many other international companies like Alstom, Donaldson and Hydac.

The aluminium is increasingly preferred in new application fields and takes the place of other materials. In this context, our main objective as Mes is to encourage the use of aluminium across the world by offering our customers always reliable and useful products and solutions.

Mes produced fully-domestic rocket launcher

PAR-L 70 model multi-barrel rocket launcher, produced by Mes as a prototype in 1987 and subsequently passed all tests successfully was Turkey’s first rocket launcher that was produced with 100% domestic input and labor.
